Wrexham: Gwersyllt station to undergo major overhaul
Gwersyllt station is due to undergo a number of changes this summer to accommodate increased rail services along the Wrexham and Bidston line.
Passenger passage between platforms will be closed to make way for what Network Rail describes as a “fully accessible route” from platform to platform.

To do this, a new entrance to Station Court will be created, as well as the installation of disabled parking spaces and a drop-off point on the Station Court side. Improvements will also be made to the top of the Hope Street Steps.
This work will take place from Monday, May 30 to Friday, July 8 during the day (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Working with Wrexham Council’s Highways Department, further improvements will also be made to the footpath and highway by creating ‘rest’ areas on the walking route, installing signage to inform drivers that there is there could be pedestrians on the road and installing speed bumps. on the highway.
Network Rail said it will use a range of facilities/machinery which can be noisy at times – and apologized in advance for any disruption.
In a letter to local residents, the company states: “Our teams are aware that they are working near your home, and will try to minimize disruption as much as possible, but we apologize in advance if you are disturbed during this work. ”
