When?

The maintenance of the elevators will take place in 3 stages:

Arrange Appointment
Step 1 Fri. May 6 to Thu. June 2, 2022
2nd step Thu. 9 June to Sat. 18 June 2022
Step 3 Tue. July 5 to Thu. July 14, 2022

During each of the above stages, the elevators to the skywalk connecting platforms 1 and 2 will be out of service between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday only.

All passengers are encouraged to board trains from Platform 1 during maintenance phases, however, stair access will remain open to customers.

Both elevators will be operational and available for use by customers between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, weekends, and holidays.

What is happening?

We’re doing routine maintenance on the elevator at Swanson station. The elevator will be out of service during this time and will affect access from Platform 2.

All passengers are encouraged to take trains from Platform 1 during the maintenance period.

Check the AT or Journey Planner mobile app for train platform numbers in advance when planning your train journey.

The existing handrails on Platform 2 will be temporarily removed and gravel placed between the existing paved area and the grassed embankment to provide temporary pedestrian access to the platform, elevator and stairs.

During construction, areas will be tapered to ensure safe public access and signs will indicate alternate access directions.

Accessibility information

  • Passengers with accessibility requirements using a train on Platform 1 will not be affected.

  • For those using a train on Platform 2, we advise customers with accessibility needs to use Ranui Station for the duration of the works. Ranui Station has Park n Ride facilities as well as accessible parking and is a short distance from Swanson Station.

  • Further construction will take place on the platforms from Wednesday, April 27, 2022, but will not impact rail service customers.

  • The existing handrails on the south platform will be temporarily removed and gravel placed between the existing paved area and the grassed embankment to provide temporary pedestrian access to the platform, elevator and stairs.

  • During construction, areas will be tapered to ensure safe public access and signs will indicate alternate access directions.
